Warren Paul, also known as Djanja, is a Pitjantjatjara man whose mother’s country is in and around Cook, South Australia. Paul began drawing from the age of thirty-two and says in his artist statement for the Ceduna Aboriginal Arts and Cultural Centre that drawing helps him “relax, it enables me to deal with personal problems.”
His early works were informed by his dreams and events in the lives of friends. His later works are inspired by the Nullarbor region and its flora and fauna. He lives and works at Yatala, South Australia.
