Henry Hughes was a professional photographer and perhaps a painter who with James Hickford, produced a number of decorative transparencies on the occasion of the Duke of Edinburgh's arrival at Melbourne in 1867.

He may be the Hughes who, in partnership with the signwriter James Hickford, produced a number of decorative transparencies for Melbourne buildings on the occasion of the Duke of Edinburgh’s arrival at that city in 1867.
