Ernest William Christmas, painter, was born in South Australia. The Christmas family moved to Western Australia about 1889. An extensive traveler, he spent time in Western Australia, New Zealand, South America, England, the USA, and Hawaii. Christmas mainly painted landscapes featuring dramatic rivers at sunset and snow capped mountain peaks.
