Sculptor and engineer, was an engineering pattern-maker by trade who carved small figures from wood in his spare time. He made 76 figures altogether, carving, quarter varnishing and polishing them using tools from his pattern-makers’ toolkit. Some were donated to the Museum of Victoria’s social history collection, including a carved nude (cat. 90243).
